R. Grace Comyns was born in a small town in central Vermont, the ninth of thirteen
children -- four girls and nine boys. Although she has written short stories, poetry,
and songs for many years, her novel
When Darla Hit  is the first work she has
published. About her book she states, "I attempt to show what I believe are life's most
important lessons: To live honestly, with compassion, courage, and gratitude. Let go
of judgements, follow your instincts, and take nothing for granted."

After various entrepreneurial ventures in four other states, Comyns finally moved
home to her beloved green mountain state for good in 2002. Her home, a former
hunting camp named
Camp Aerie, is located in the foothills of her favorite mountain.
Friends consider the place a retreat, and her guest room is seldom vacant. She
spends her time reading, writing, listening to music, entertaining family and friends; or
driving over back roads in search of antiques, rare books, breathtaking views,
healthy and delicious food, fine wine, and stimulating people.

Comyns is currently busy recording some of the many songs she has written. With
the help of her friend and musical mentor, Jon Gailmor, six songs have been

arranged and produced. Her song
Might As Well Walk has been recorded by a
studio band at Paramount Music in Nashville and will be included on an album titled
"Catch a Rising Star." A YouTube link will be provided soon...
